Who we are and what we do
Scio eSports Club Constitution
Act I
The name of our club is Scio eSports. eSports (electronic sports) is comprised of all of the competitive video games which are played worldwide. The club will begin by focusing on League of Legends, which is based around its cooperation and teamwork, along with the need for strategy. It is recognized by colleges and national organizations as an official sport. Professional League of Legends players have been recognized as international Athletes by the US Government, and given athletic Visas. League of Legends has also been recognized by millions of viewers worldwide, especially so because of its international competitors.
Act II
The purpose of this club is not to be an excuse for gaming, it is instead to promote teamwork, sportsman-like behavior, and strategic thinking. We want to be able to give the gamers in our school a chance to group together and make friends with other gamers. Gaming is not a super popular subject in our school, and making an eSports club, which people could be interested in, will bring together people with the same interests. At the same time, it gives the less active/athletic people in the school a chance to take part in a team, they would have some of the same experiences as being on any other teams that the school has. Actually having an eSports club on campus will also give people that don't normally play video games a chance to, although our club will be more focused on competitive gaming as opposed to leisurely/casual gaming.
Act III
The members in our club will be required to have a 2.0 GPA, and must not have any grade at or below a D. Current grade printouts must be provided in order to participate in ANY club activity, and if it is found that any club members have somehow lied about their grades, they will be suspended from the club for 2 weeks. If a member does not meet a certain level of maturity, they may be asked to leave for the day. There are no club dues necessary, however donations are gladly accepted.
Act IV
Meetings will take place (twice a week usually) from 3:15pm until 4:00pm in room 36 of the High School (Mr. Bernard's room). Meetings will be held to freely discuss any League of Legends topics, watch video replays of LCS (League Championship Series) games, or discuss any upcoming events.
Act V
In the event that the Scio eSports club has any fundraising opportunities we will take them and discuss them with the members at the next meeting. The main fundraising events will consist of inter-school tournaments or major LAN tournaments;dates are to be determined. We will gladly accept any donations, sponsorships, or fundraising oppurtunities. If a fundraising opportunity or an idea is presented to any member we ask that this member contact the club treasurer or president.
Act VI
Officers will be elected each year within 3 weeks of the new school year starting. Elections will be taken by ballot, there will be no arguing on the results, if a person decides that they would rather not be in the position they were elected for, it will fall to the next person with the closest amount of votes. Officers may be reprimanded and/or removed from their position for offenses outlined in Act III.
